In honor of Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), SPC proudly presents the International Film Series screening of the film, The Optimists, the story of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews from the Holocaust. Prior to the screening, the opening reception of the art exhibit, Culture and Life in Bulgaria, will be held.
The Opening Reception for the exhibit begins at 5:30 p.m., and the film screening begins at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at the Seminole Campus Digitorium (UP-160), 9200 113th St. N. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
The inspiring true story, The Optimists, is a celebration of the human spirit and explores what ordinary people can do in a time of crisis. Thousands have been moved and inspired by the story of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews from the Holocaust documented in this film. This event is in collaboration with the Bulgarian-American Cultural Center “RODINA,” Inc.
