Ambassador Georgi Panayotov welcomed Bulgarian law students who participate in the international rounds of the Phillip C. Jessup Law Competition, the world’s largest and most prestigious moot court competition.
The students are from the Faculty of Law of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv. They have successfully completed the national rounds, debating a specific case in the field of international law for over 9 months.
The competition is named after Philip C. Jessup, the United States representative to the ICJ. It started as a friendly advocacy competition between two teams from Harvard University in 1960. Currently, teams from the world’s most prestigious universities compete in Jessup.
Ambassador Panayotov congratulated the exceptional Bulgarian students on their remarkable achievements and wished them the best of luck for the forthcoming final stage of the competition!
