79th anniversary of the rescue of Bulgarian Jews

On March 10, 2022 we mark the 79th anniversary of the historic rescue of Bulgarian Jews during World War II.

Thanks to the compassion and courage of members of the Bulgarian Parliament led by Vice President Dimitar Peshev, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, political and professional organisations, and intellectuals, approximately 50,000 Jews survived the Holocaust.
