Ceremony awarding Eugene Schuyler with Golden Laurel Bough for his significant contribution to the Liberation of Bulgaria

On July 9^th, 2018, American Consul General in Constantinople (Istanbul) Eugene Schuyler was presented (Posthumously) with the Golden Laurel Bough of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Ambassador Tihomir Stoytchev presented the award to Mr. Schuyler Grant – representative of the Schuyler family.

In 1876 Eugene Schuyler (1840-1890) visited Bulgaria along with Januarius MacGahan and published a report about the atrocities during the suppression of the April Uprising.
