On May 24th, 2018, Ambassador Tihomir Stoytchev took part in the celebration of the Day of Bulgarian Education and Culture and Slavonic Alphabet at the Library of the United States Congress. For second consecutive year, the Union of Bulgarian Writers in America donated books to the Library of Congress written by Bulgarian authors.
The Library of Congress is the oldest federal cultural institution in the United States, where a significant collection of Bulgarian publications is kept, among them “Nedelnik” by Sofronii Vrachanski; “Fish Primer” by Dr. Petar Beron, “Bulgarian Haidouts” by Georgi Sava Rakovski, the first Bulgarian grammar in English and many others.
