The William Meredith Foundation’s 2017 Poetry Prize, bestowed to Peter Meinke, was celebrated on September 16th, 2017 at the Bulgarian Embassy in Washington, DC. The program included a recital of works from the books published by the Publishing House “Poets Choice Publishing” – „To Start With Feel Fortunate” by Peter Meinke, “Elephant Cake Walk” by Andrew Oerke, “First Do No Harm” by Laura Brywavski-Miller.
The poets and works were presented by Richard Harteis, founder of the William Meredith Foundation. A short film was shown for the famous American poet William Meredith, who worked for the popularization of Bulgarian poetry and culture in the United States.
