On May 13th, 2017, the European Union Embassies and the EU Delegation to the United States opened their doors to the public for the annual EU Embassies’ Open House. The event offered residents and guests of the federal capital a rare opportunity to look inside the embassies and to experience the cultural heritage and national traditions of the EU member states.
Visitors to the Embassy of Bulgaria enjoyed folk song and dance performances by Orpheia vocal ensemble and by students from “St. Kliment Ohridski” and “Botev Academy” Bulgarian schools. The Embassy offered Bulgarian food and wine tasting. An exhibit on Bulgarian folk motifs by painter Petya Ilieva was also on display.
